About Julia

Watercolor Artist and Sketcher

Hello! And thank you for visiting! I've been drawing and painting my whole life, but only recently started to make it a daily practice after I finished homeschooling my daughter. I love watercolors because of the way they move and combine on the page, and the unpredictable results. Portraits are my favorite subject; I think watercolors are the perfect medium to portray the luminosity of faces.

I will be teaching "Intermediate Watercolor Still Life and Portrait Painting" at the Yellow Barn in Glen Echo Park, Bethesda, MD during the Winter and Spring (2024) sessions. And I'll be teaching a "Watercolor Pet Portrait Painting" class there in July 2024.
